The dedicated Hummer H3 Guardian One has left Vancouver on a 14-day drive across Canada and the U.S. for the Second Annual Drive to Remember to raise awareness about officers killed in the line of duty. Its final destination is Washington D.C. for Police Week celebrations commemorating the brave men and women who gave their lives protecting our streets and neighborhoods this past year.
The Drive to Remember is sponsored by the TASER Foundation for Fallen Officers. In addition to raising awareness, the Drive to Remember also gives us a compelling opportunity to raise money to assist the approximately 150 families that will lose family members in the coming year.
The TASER Foundation for Fallen Officers provides financial support grants, usually within 72 hours, to the families of officers lost in the line of duty in the United States and Canada. Because TASER International pays all of the operating costs of the Foundation, 100% of the money raised goes directly to the families in their time of need. Since there's no red-tape, the aid can get there in those crucial first days when families are in shock and adjusting to both the grief of personal loss as well as the financial implications.
